Botox is an anti-ageing procedure for treating lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movements. In this procedure, small injections are placed in the frown lines, crow's feet around the eyes, deep forehead lines, chin, neck, jaw line and lines around the mouth to relax the muscles and erase these lines. Botox may also be injected in the underarms and palms in those individuals who sweat excessively in these areas.

PRE- AND POST-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Avoid taking Aspirin / Ecosprin / Disprin, or any other pain killer, Vitamin E and other blood thinning drugs at least 5 days prior to the treatment. This is important to avoid any oozing from the area
  • Do not bend or sleep for 2 hours after the procedure
  • Do not overexert for a few hours after the procedure
  • Do not swim, exercise, perform yoga, or lift heavy objects / weights for a day

POST-PROCEDURE SYMPTOMS

  • In some individuals after the procedure, slight bruising might occur at the injected areas, but it disappears after a day or two. If the lower face is treated, facial movements may be sluggish for the first week.
  • A slight headache might occur after the treatment.
  • If Botox is injected in the palms, finer movements may be restricted for 1–2 weeks.
