KTP (532nm): This laser is used to lighten freckles, sun induced spots and other pigmented lesions. It does not remove freckles completely but just fades them enough for a year or so, provided strict sun protection is practised.
Q Switched Nd YAG Laser: Unwanted tattoos and pigmented lesions are effectively removed by this technology. It works really well on darker, black tattoos whereas coloured tattoos do not respond as much. Lightening is seen after 3-4 sessions. It is extremely safe and does not lead to scarring. It works on solar lentigines.
It is also used for lightening certain skin conditions that lead to pigmentation such as lichen planus pigmentosus, argyria, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation resulting from other skin conditions, etc.
Laser toning is used for rejuvenation. It also has a bleaching effect - it is used to lighten fine facial hair. It is also used for evening out the skin complexion, giving a brightening effect and even look to the skin. It is a safe procedure, even for younger individuals.
